A Letter from
Pastor Chuck Smith:
Jesus taught us in Matthew 10:16, “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves; be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. Therefore, as a prudent measure and believing this to be from the Lord, I believe we at Calvary Chapel should be in support of this amendment. Isaiah 1:17 exhorts us to seek judgment and to relieve the oppressed. This amendment would help to accomplish just that.
The core issue is that we desire to continue to freely share our faith in Jesus Christ as well as every part of the Bible. We will need to gather almost 1 million signatures. Please let us know if you will be willing to gather signatures when the time comes to do so by contacting Pastor Allan Esses at PastorAllan@YesJesusIsLord.Org. If passed, the amendment will serve as a wise preventative measure to help in our calling as pastors to feed His sheep. Let’s keep in prayer and remember the battle belongs to the Lord.
Pastor Chuck Smith, Acts 20:28

Amendment to California State Constitution
Wes Bentley - Far-reaching Ministries
There are moments in history marked by key turning points. Moments where we are faced with key decisions to stand for the truth regardless of the cost. I believe that we are facing one of those key turning points in The United States right now. We are facing issues where our children are no longer protected by our laws and they are allowing boys to go into the girls restrooms under protection of the laws of the state. Our freedom of religion is being threatened because many of us are not united in our efforts to resist it. The Scriptures exhort us to resist the devil and he will flee
I have always taught my chaplains that when it comes to facing evil to defend the women and children, to trust in the Lord and stand their ground even if it cost them their lives. I've always believed that I could not teach what I was not willing to do myself and feel that it is important that we set the example as Christians to do justly. Pastor Alan Esses of Yes Jesus is Lord has written an amendment to the California state constitution that would clearly define our religious freedoms. Freedoms that the veterans in this country shed their blood to protect. We want to stand with him and would encourage you to support this important work to present this petition to the people of the state of California.
Sincerely, Wes Bentley
This Amendment states a person can use any part of the Bible as authority without it being a crime, hate crime or unlawful to do so. It provides clarity of protections in our laws for anyone when using the Bible as authority. It cannot be interpreted as a crime, hate crime, unlawful, or as disrupting the peace and safety of the State when communicating views on any area of the Bible; and for anyone to freely proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord to the glory of God the Father; and to share all the counsel of God’s Word, the Bible. A person using any part of the Bible’s content as authority may freely communicate any view about, for, or against various actions and principles at public or private gatherings, or in any communicative medium and circumstances without it being a crime, hate crime or unlawful to do so.
