Heaven is sounding much more beautiful as there is a new angels voice rejoicing. We said our last goodbyes to our mother, grandmother and the matriarch of our family. On August 25th 2023, Ermel Estep made it to her eternal home in heaven. Mamaw Ermel was born on September 3rd, 1939, to the late Willam and Rose Dotson.
She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Buchanan County. There wasn’t a sweeter person on this earth. She loved everyone she met and would always make her home feel like your home if you came by for a visit.
She was strong in her faith and awaited the day she could go home to heaven. She was a witness to the Lord and told everyone she met about his love. Mamaw was gifted by God with her beautiful voice and had a song for everyday. She was a longtime member of New Zion Freewill Baptist Church. She was the best mother and grandmother God ever made and will be missed dearly in the years to come.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years: James Claude (J.C.) Estep; 5-Children : Timothy, Anita, James Arvin, Brenda Lee and Tammy Lynn May; 9-Brothers : Flem, Everett, Clell, Authur, George, Earney, Bill, Earl and Anthony; 2-Sisters: Cora and Opal. She was the last surviving Member of her immediate family.
